Keep writing. Keep doing it and doing it. Even in the moments when it's so hurtful to think about writing. ~Heather Armstrong

...As a “newbie,” I deeply appreciate that. Joi’s proofreading was spot-on. Over a long career, I’ve had my writing proofread hundreds of times, by many different editors, and I have to rank Joi’s work at or near the top...

Dear Joi,
What an awesome job!!!!!!!!!!! I just went over all the drafts for Concerning Mania, One Dark Night, and I am thankful and thrilled... I am so impressed with the incredible job and the clarity and fluidity you
brought to my work by eliminating so many commas. (I have a serious comma issue, hee.) When I saw the draft and the care you put into it, I seriously started crying. (with happiness) I know, I know. I'm sensitive. But this is the best edit!!!! I hope your eyes are surviving all the close work. Thank you again. And again. Sending hugs! ~Cynthia

I've long taught language and writing, most recently on the college level. But Joi McClary has such a comprehensive knowledge of the language that she has taught me some lessons. Over the last three years, Joi has been an invaluable asset. She delivers on time and with an efficiency that is inspiring. But more than knowing where every comma belongs, Joi is a delightful partner. She is committed to her clients--offering advice with encouragement, humor with her suggestions. And even a "battle" over "who vs whom" turns out to be amusing and right on target. She is worth every penny spent. ~P. Grode

I write short stories and have worked with Joi McClary for over three years. She provided invaluable service, preparing manuscripts for consideration by magazines and journals. What I most enjoyed was the interaction with Joi over a manuscript. She is a total professional with an encyclopedic knowledge of style and grammar. But best of all, she has a great sense of humor. As we worked together over a number of manuscripts, she came to know my style, my preferences, my quirks, and my bete noirs. She was unfailingly courteous and prompt. I strongly recommend her to authors in search of that unseen administrative hand that makes everything so much easier. ~Robert Moulthrop

Joi is a fabulous editor and proofreader. I highly recommend her for any editing and proofreading work. She's personable, detail-oriented, and serious about deadlines. Can't say enough good things about her stellar work. I could only pick three of the attributes, but I really want to pick them all as they all apply. ~R. Scalia

Joi McClary has proofread many of my manuscripts. I always thought I was a pretty good proofreader myself, but Joi has proved beyond any doubt that I don’t know everything about grammar, usage, and spelling. In fact, I’m always astounded by how much she finds. Did you know that “brokenhearted” and “peekaboo” are not hyphenated, that “Adventureland” and “wineglass” are one word, that “bennies” should not be capitalized, or that are ellipses (...) are available as a symbol in Word? Neither did I, until I started working with Joi. I’ve learned these things and many, many more from her. She notices everything! Nary a comma or dot slips by unscrutinized by her discerning eye. -- Lucille Lang Day

I just wanted to extend a thank-you on a truly excellent job. I have had many people look at my screenplays, and no one was able to pick up all the mistakes you did. I will highly recommend your services to anyone I know in the field. Your prices were beyond fair and reasonable. Thank you again for your keen eye and making everything perfect. ~Mike Pinset
